"More plastic? Not necessary!"
Understandable — nobody wants "more plastic." However, CanShield is not just an add-on; it serves as a hygiene barrier, resealable closure, and carbon dioxide retention device, providing a smoother drinking experience. As a bioplastic made from renewable resources, CanShield is compatible with recycling and reduces material usage.
Additionally, larger cans can replace PET bottles.
"Recycling is made more difficult!"
Cans have never been 100% metal — internal coatings and printing are standard. CanShield fits into existing sorting processes (aluminum → metal stream; plastic → appropriate stream) and has a tear tab option. Consumers do not have to do anything extra.
"Just drink it—it's over-engineered!"
For 330 ml: Sure, but what about 500 ml+ for events or on-the-go? The hygiene barrier, non-metallic drinking experience, and protection from insects and contamination count, plus CO₂ retention after opening. As the only on-shell option, CanShield also meets US child safety standards for resealable closures. Line integration costs marginally per can at 100,000+ per hour.
